Brocacel®, the deactivated and pure yeast culture made of Saccharomyces cerevisiae, has been tested this autumn in fresh meat sausages for dogs.
Brocacel® is used as flavour enhancer in feeds. It also acts as a prebiotic in the intestines. During this test the intake of fresh meat sausages with and without Brocacel® were assessed.
Results showed that on average the sausages containing Brocacel® were consumed for 56% and the sausages without Brocacel® for only 44%. This study, conducted by De Morgenstond in Dussen, clearly shows that the addition of Brocacel® to petfood results in a higher feeds intake.
