The last weeks of 2019 have appeared on the calender and 2020 is already knocking on the door. Nitrogen/PAS (Integrated Approach to Nitrogen), PFAS, farmers’ protests, we have seen them all in the past few months and they are hitting our sector hard.
Is everything that is said about them true or should other perspectives be considered, like this one link. A 10 minute video that certainly gives us food for thought. Information like this should be published more often in order to provide our policy makers with the right information. You can manage the data you measure and these data should be used by Excel managers, so our government can make policies based on more than mathematical models only.
It is not a matter of “if”, but of “when” something is going to happen. “When” is now and there are plenty of challenges to start the new year with. All links in the sector can contribute: protein reduction, reduced energy consumption, additives, alternative protein sources etc.
The feed industry is a challenging sector full of opportunities for companies to develop.
All that remains for me is to wish everyone a good and most importantly a healthy 2020!
