ActiBeet® is a natural betaine extracted from sugar beet molasses and is produced in Europe. ActiBeet® is obtained from a complex refining process of sugar production residue.
ActiBeet® is produced by Agrana, Austria. The product is GMO-free and can be used for all animal species.
Many independent studies from renowned institutes (including Schothorst, University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna and Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences) have shown that betaine contributes to the improvement of animal health and sustainability of feed.
The addition of natural betaine saves methionine, glycine and choline (chloride). Betaine also is an osmosis protector (anti-heat stress) and combats fatty liver.
ActiBeet® is available in the following qualities;
- ActiBeet® 97 – as a feed additive:
97% betaine content, pure (no anti-caking agent), recommended for drinking water application and suitable for organic farming*. - ActiBeet® 96 – for feed/premix production:
96% betaine content + anti-caking agent. - Betaine 96 OR™ – for organic feed/premix production:
96% betaine content + anti-caking agent suitable for organic feed production*. - ActiBeet® L – a liquid feed material containing 33% betaine, available on request.
*Only natural betaine, as betaine anhydrate (3a920), is suitable for organic feed production according to the regulation (EU) 2019/2164.
The dosage of ActiBeet® depends on the animal’s specie and age group and varies between 0.20 kg/ton and 2.1 kg/ton complete feed for poultry and swine. For ruminants the recommended dosages varies between 5 gram up to 60 gram per animal per day.
